Juan's Tutors 

Michael is a passionate educator. He enjoys engaging with students at all levels in their mathematics education. An experienced high school math teacher, having taught in independent schools for 18 years, Michael has worked tirelessly to create the best materials, find new and effective approaches to promote deep learning, and build the best curriculum for both in classroom and one-on-one settings. Over the course of the last three years, he wrote a textbook on Precalculus that is now used in the classroom and is currently working on his own Calculus book. His background is primarily with courses such as AP Calculus BC/AB, Precalculus, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Geometry, but also has experience preparing students for standardized tests, such the SAT and ACT.

Michael’s mathematical proclivity began at an early age when he built a fascination with numbers and patterns. It was his primary subject of interest throughout his formal education, attending a magnet high school for math and science in the suburbs of Chicago and majoring in mathematics at Princeton University. He has spent his years since sharing his passion as a classroom teacher and tutor for the subject.

Michael, his wife, and infant daughter split time between Westchester County, NY and Ulster County, NY, both locations at which he is available for hire.
