Who is Juan?
I am the founder and president of JuanTutors.com. I have over 20 years of math and physics tutoring experience. My first teaching experience was as a teaching intern in 1999 when I was in high school myself, but I did not get serious about tutoring until 2001.
I focus on math and physics and have experience working with ivy league and non-ivy league students. I have a great deal of experience working with both highly advanced students and struggling students.
I worked with a student who can multiply 7 digit numbers mentally and with another student who was doing masters level work during high school. I also worked with a 7th grader who is taking an advanced precalculus course. Overall, approximately 30% of my students are students whose aim is to get into elite colleges and universities such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and other Ivy Leagues and Tier I schools.
I have also worked with students for which math is a genuine struggle. Many of my students meet me with ACTs between an 18 and 25, SAT math sections in the mid-500s or lower, or with AP grades hovering between a 1 and 3. I often work with parents and students for multiple years because students aiming for mild improvement often achieve elite-level grades. Some of my students hoping to get into local colleges have been accepted into Tier I schools. That outcome is, in fact, not rare for students with whom I have tutored. Approximately 70% of my students fall into this category.
My students tend to improve extremely quickly. No tutor can ever guarantee results, but what I have is a proven track record that most tutors cannot claim.

Location:
Juan tutors in person and online. Juan tutors in New York City, Westchester County, Putnam County, Dutchess County, Western Connecticut, and Northern New Jersey. Generally, Juan is willing to travel within 45 minutes of central Westchester. and up to 30 minutes north of Westchester and Putnam County. In theory, Juan in willing to travel farther if the client is willing to pay for travel. |

Hourly Rate:
$249/hour for in-person tutoring and $225/hour for remote and online tutoring. In order to make your decision-making process more efficient, Juan does not negotiate that fee. |

Cancellation Policy:
Juan allows cancellations with more than 24 hours advance notice. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a cancellation fee equal to half of a session. Cancellations the week before and the week of finals, Regents, AP tests, IB tests, and college finals are not permitted. In addition, greater than three cancellations may result in a permanent cancellation of sessions with Juan. |
